How is the Elite+ laser used to treat veins?
The laser emits light pulses which target the blood vessels that cause the varicose veins on the legs, whilst having no effect on the surrounding areas.
What results can I expect from vein treatment?
Right from the first session* you can expect a clear improvement in the appearance of your veins. However a single session is not enough to treat all of your blood vessels and reduce your varicose veins. A treatment program can be established to suit your lifestyle. Speak to your doctor about the duration of convalescence, comfort and results.
How does it work?
The laser beam travels along the melanin in the hair up to the bulb which it heats and this destroys without damaging the skin.
What results can I hope for?
As the sessions progress you will notice a reduction in hair density and number in the treated area. Laser hair removal only works for hair that is actually growing, which is why the area will need to be treated a number of times to get the best results. A treatment program can be established to suit your lifestyle. Speak to your doctor about the duration of convalescence, comfort and results.
How does it work?
The laser emits energy pulses which target the pigment at depth and stimulate the production of collagen to tighten the neighbouring tissue. Skin colour and texture will improve making your skin look younger.
What results can I hope for?
You can expect to see a reduction of brown marks, sun damage and wrinkles as of the very first sessions. Your skin will be smoother and softer. A series of treatment sessions will be necessary to achieve the desired results. A treatment program can be established to suit your lifestyle. Speak to your doctor about the duration of convalescence, comfort and results.
How many treatment sessions will be necessary?
Positive results will be visible as of the first session but they will only become permanent 6 months after the laser treatment. Your doctor will decide how many sessions you need depending on your skin type, the area to be treated and your expectations.
How long will the results of the treatment last.
That depends on the condition of your skin and your life-style. Your doctor will advise you personally on the preventive measures that will help the results achieved to last as long as possible.
How long does a treatment session last?
You should allow 20 minutes for the treatment of the whole of the face but the duration may vary depending on the area and type of treatment.
Is it painful?
You may feel a tingling sensation during the treatment and a sensation similar to sunburn that will go away one to three hours after the treatment. For people with very sensitive skin a local anaesthetic cream can be applied before the treatment.
What are the side-effects of the treatment?
You skin will be a bit red and swollen for a few days. You may feel something similar to the effects of sun-burn for a few hours after the treatment. Your doctor will suggest a type of cream that will reduce these effects and moisturise your skin effectively. You will be able to use make-up again 48 hours after the treatment.
What precautions should I take after the treatment?
Sun-cream (IP 30 at least) must be applied for at least 6 weeks after the last treatment session, to avoid any direct exposure to the sun.
